How I work
I aspire to help you rediscover how your inner world can support the outer, and not sabotage it.
Whether you have issues in your relationships or with work, whether you are suffering from anxiety or a general lack of direction, you already have the answer to the dilemma inside you.
Most physical and emotional complaints are signals from your deeper self to reconnect and bring inner harmony. It’s a challenge but the rewards are great.
I believe the greatest take-aways from taking the time to explore your inner world are CHOICE and RESILIENCE. Life will always continue to throw us curve balls but with the right tools we become self-empowered enough to face them head on.
Core Model
My core training is in a transpersonal approach called Psychosynthesis. We work from the premise that the life decisions created during our developmental years result in frequently outdates unconscious patterns. We work from the 'here and now' to the 'there and then' so that you can move forward into the future with increased choice and resilience.
The transpersonal model also asserts that there is a deeper, wiser self, beyond the concerns of these unconscious patterns that direct the ego-self. This deeper self is the source of self-love and healing, as well as the clearest compass for our future journey
Specific Expertise
International Nomads
Having lived in many different countries since childhood and having had the privilege of working with clients from all over the world, I am well placed to deal with the specific challenges and joys of a life lived internationally and cross culturally.
I’ve written a great number of articles on the subject, and lectured about cross-cultural and expat issues at Philip Morris, Turning Point and KTH’s international section.
Fertility and Pregnancy Loss
Before I became the proud mother of my now 32-year old son, I lost multiple pregnancies. I wrote about these experiences in a book called Small Sparks of Life. I was also an active member of the Ectopic Pregnancy trust forums.
I have counselled many women through their initial loss, and helped them to understand the effect that it can have on all other aspects of life, including the fearful excitement of a subsequent pregnancy.
Existential & Spiritual concerns
I remember listening to the priest in the Dutch reformed church of my childhood and, young as I was, thinking ‘you’ve got it all wrong’. Who or what the divine is; a god, a goddess, many gods, external, immanent, or non-existent, who knows?
These are concerns that my clients can address within the transpersonal frame of psychosynthesis. Providing the tools to explore with how their lives can include more meaning and purpose.
